Living with and caring for an aging grandmother with decreasing capabilities for 2 years and seeing the positive affect it had on our entire family has had a lasting impact. Upon her passing in 1975, a home care career continued as a Service Coordinator and Branch Manager with two national companies. Ultimately in 1985, we established SelectCare Home Care Services and my personal and rewarding experience caring for a loved one has been its inspiration.

Providing compassionate home care performed by competent caregivers in New York City has been our mission. It has been very rewarding to observe how our dedicated staff shares and implements our belief that, “the right person makes all the difference”.

This ongoing philosophy has had a positive influence on so many and has instilled in all of us at SelectCare a sense of pride. Our goal is to provide a person to care for your loved one, as we would for our own family member in need.

SelectCare is simply phenomenal. As a physician, I have a good view into the current health care scene. In the sea of home health care providers, where these days everything is reduced to numbers, cost, and then ‘on-to-the-next’, SelectCare is an outlier in the best sense of the word. We had watched SelectCare for quite some time as they provided home care services for a dear family friend. We saw that they were 100% reliable, had excellent operating procedures, and hired really extraordinary caregivers who actually cared about their job and the person they were caring for. We have also had experience with other companies in the past which were so-so, and therefore when it came time for our family to engage a caregiving company for Mom they were the obvious choice. And it turned out to be by far the best choice possible. The SelectCare office team and managers are staffed with people who truly care about their clients. Working with the office to provide coverage as needed has been seamless. They are not only available but happy to communicate at any time. They are flexible in terms of the care needs, and can expand or contract the care depending on the needs of the client. The case managers are highly trained nurses who are super dedicated to insuring their clients receive what they need, and they go the extra mile. And the caregivers themselves are remarkable; reliable to a fault, well trained dedicated, capable, trustworthy…everything you could possibly want if you need to have someone outside of family coming into your home for very personal interactions with the family member in need. And when I’m out of town, and the peace of mind that I have knowing that SelectCare is there when I cannot be is absolutely priceless.
